There are so many cool things to learn when it comes to couponing.
- Couponing is not as extreme in Canada but there are some great deals to be found
- There aren't any stores that double coupons
- Walmart, Shoppers Drug Mart, No Frills and Zellers are great stores for flyer sales + ad matching
- My favourite coupons sources are linked below, tearpads in stores and from writing to manufacturers directly (Johnson & Johnson, Colgate/Palmolive, Playtex, Primo, SC Johnson, Chapmans, Old Dutch and I've contacted Pampers) also help increase the amount of coupons collected

2. Get Organized
Start off simple. I started with a little photo book I purchased from RCSS. I've come to realize that you can't effectively use your coupons if you aren't organized. The first few weeks, I took my sheets of coupons to the store & stood in line ripping them out. Note to self: dumb idea! I now rip them out and have categories (ie: Pharmacy, food, pets, baby products) and tuck them in to each little slot. I did notice on the episode of TLC's EXTREME COUPONING that they used a Binder + Hockey Card Holder method that did the trick but I have yet to collect that many coupons. For now, a simple photo album works for me.3. Deals. Where are you?Today is Thursday. Most people get excited when Friday rolls around but for myself, Thursday is my Friday and I'll tell you why. I love the sound of my mailbox creaking open (it needs some help from WD 40) because I know that my big bundle of weekly flyers have arrived. HOORAY! I sort them all over the floor, find my handy-dandy red SHARPIE marker and open my lovely Coupon Photo Book. Leave me alone for 20 mins or so to browse and circle, then I start pulling coupons out and staple them to the front of the flyer. This way, if I don't make it to that exact store, I can always PRICE MATCH at Walmart or No Frills and still get the good ol' 'steal' of the week!
4. Use your coupons on sales items. Many people don't know that you can use coupons on items that are on sale. I like to comb over the flyers I receive and look for sales on items that I have coupons for. Or if I am shopping, I'll have my coupons with me and if an item is on sale already I use my coupon on top of the savings that the store is giving you already. Just be careful to read your coupons well. I like the coupons that are applied to a single item as opposed to buying 2 and getting a $1 off.
